AGED CARE

As an older person you may need assistance to care for yourself if you are restricted in your activities.

The assistance you receive can help to delay or even avoid long-term care in an institutional setting.

SUPPORT PROGRAM

(CHSP)

The Commonwealth Home Support Program is one consolidated program that provides entry-level home support for older people who need assistance to keep living independently at home in their community.

Cooma Challenge Limited offers different CHSP services available for residents in Cooma-Monaro, Bombala and Snowy River Shires.

Our CHSP services include Respite Care, Social Support, Domestic Assistance and Personal Care.

Respite Care provides short-term, time-limited breaks for carers of eligible people.

MONARO COMMUNITY ACCESS / DAY PROGRAM

Our Monaro Community Access / Day Program provides centre-based care for older people being cared for while living at home, including people with early onset dementia whose primary carer has outside work commitments or is training to join the workforce.

SNOWY MONARO

RESPITE COTTAGE

Our Snowy Monaro Respite Cottage provides overnight accommodation for up to five nights, to give respite to carers of older people who live in rural and remote areas.

The cottage is shared with our Monaro Community Access Day Program in Cooma East.

The people who stay here are served home cooked meals and offered 24-hour support.

People who stay at the cottage are welcome to receive visitors.
